The Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department is now
accepting applications from continuing UCSD students who wish to
switch into one of its impacted majors, Mechanical Engineering
and Aerospace Engineering. You must complete a Undergraduate
Application for Admission to the Major, which can be found in
the MAE Undergraduate Student lobby in EBU II. You must apply
even if you have already submitted a request on-line to change
majors.
All applications are due by June 3rd, 2011 at 3:30PM and must be
submitted to Christina Sandoval-Paquette in the Student Affairs
Office in EBU II room 169. Any application turned in after the
deadline will not be reviewed. Students MUST submit the
application in person. No electronic versions will be permitted.
All students who wish to apply MUST meet the minimum
requirements as listed below:
(A) complete at least one year/three quarters in residence at
UCSD
(b) complete the following lower division requirements
-Math 20A-F (Math 20A-C for Freshmen)
-Physic 2A/B/BL/C/CL (Physics 2A/B/BL for freshmen)
-Chem 6A/B
(c) must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
(d) students will be ranked based on overall UCSD GPA and
admitted according to rank
Admission is based on available space and meeting these
requirements does not guarantee admission. Students should be
aware that applications will be evaluated based on academic
excellence. Students past their 6th quarter at UCSD are not
eligible to apply.
